umm that’s because it is a small venue and more intimate. only 1300. aloha tower can hold like 3000 and therefore NOT intimate, crappy sound, outside, so the price should be lower. wayyy lower.

yeah, cause plane tickets and hotel rooms are hella cheap. and she wants to get paid for doing her job? rachel, that’s the going rate for her shows most everywhere, at least recently. add on top of the stuff i mentioned at the beginning for 10-15 people(band, crew, sound guy, etc) and this show is an ok price. i probably won’t pay it cause i’ve seen her too many times and gonna hit up matt & kim the next week, but don’t complain now that a company is actually bringing bands down. there was a 5 year period earlier this decade when we got a show every 6 months. that was shitty. at least there are choices of shows now.

Chan Marshall is The Greatest. Anonymous is absolutely right- what makes “you” think
that you can dictate what someone gets paid for working Rachel? Whenever musicians come
to HI they don’t make a lot of money because of the costs associated with travel and hence
the lack of shows. For Cat Power or any other musician to come down here is really an
act of appreciation for fans.

I’m stoked she’s coming and am totally willing to pay $33 for a good show. Love her!

Gotta love how people are comparing ticket prices in LA to Hawaii. Do you realize these artists have to be flown here and how cost of everything in Hawaii is high.

What’s the difference between GA and VIP?
